FFA Seniors, please remember that scholarship applications are due by April 28th @ 3:30pm
FFA Members, don’t forget that your BBQ ticket quota & money are due on today by 3:30. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, so please make sure to get all your tickets sold! We have heard from several businesses downtown that they haven’t been sold to yet. Bring all money and unsold tickets to Mrs. West or Miss Jardine by 3:30 on Tuesday. You must sell all 25 tickets to be excused from school on Thursday to help at Sterl Hall.
Tonight ( Tuesday & Wednesday) is an FFA work night to shred pork. Participants that show up to help will earn 5 points per hour. We will provide a light supper. We’re planning on being there from 3:30 - 7:30, but times will vary. Wear old clothes that can get greasy.
Any FFA Members that want to interview to be an FFA Officer for next school year, please come see Mrs. West or Miss Jardine to pick up your Intent to Run form. Officer applications are due by April 24th, so come see us soon!
German and Spanish Honor Societies will induct new members this Wednesday, April 19th at 6:30 p.m. in the AHS Auditorium. New inductees should plan to arrive by 6:15 to find their place on the stage. All current members of both organizations and anyone who wants to support these students in their success is invited to attend this dual-language celebration.
The Forensics team did an excellent job this weekend at Halstead. Lainey Willis, Hannah Colburn, Tami Dempsey, Joshlyn Young, Breanna Prater, Nick Wright, Matt Rosebrook, Jasmine Washington, Carly Graefe, Dawson Whalen, Harlie Delay, and Jackson Welsh took 2nd in sweepstakes. Matt Rosebrook and Nick Wright took 1st in duet acting qualifying for state, Harlie Delay and Jackson Welsh took 2nd in duet acting qualifying for state, Jackson Welsh took 1st in humorous acting and 2nd in Prose qualifying for state, Breanna Prater took 3rd in international extemp and 4th in impromptu, and Jasmine Washington took 5th in impromptu.
Attention Advanced Biology students. Remember, we will be touring K-State labs on Wednesday, April 19th. Please bring $10 for lunch money, wear comfortable shoes and meet Mrs. Heintz on the West side of the high school so that we can leave on the bus promptly at 7:45.
Attention Seniors that plan to attend a Kansas college or trade school for welding or another technical field, please see Mrs. West for a $2500 American Welding Society scholarship opportunity.
Seniors, please turn in your graduation information sheets and the Senior Honors sheets to Mrs. Geiger as soon as possible.
