Any FFA member who has not turned in their fruit and meat packet, please turn it into the office by the end of the day.

We are in need of 37 more blood donors, and there is only two days left to sign up.    We need you!  If you can donate, please sign up outside the office today or next week.  If you can't donate, please find two people who can.  We allow adults in our community to come donate too, so if you have a relative that wants to donate have them contact Mrs. Burton or the office to schedule an appointment.  They can also sign up online at redcrossblood.org.  Thanks for helping us save lives!

Make your vote for Joe  count twice.  Those persons who purchase or put a down payment on a yearbook prior to Cowboy Joe voting on Friday, November 15 will have their vote counted twice.  Buy a yearbook and support your Joe.

Bring canned food to Cowboy Joe activities throughout next week to support your Joe and help the Abilene area food pantry.  The Joe with the most donated items will receive 10 votes.

   ---Cowboy Joe Dance and announcement from 7:0-9:00 in Gym B

Boys basketball meeting during today at 1:00.    Check in with your seminar and then report to Gym B.

SENIORS-Scholarship applications are upon us!  Check out November's deadlines on the abileneschools.org website under Guidance Department, and get your applications submitted!  Questions - please stop by the guidance office.

Juniors and Seniors-This week Student Council will be hosting Extreme Volleyball today  from 4-5:30 in the AHS Gym for junior and senior boys and Powder Puff Football on Tuesday, November 12 from 4-6:30 at the football field for juniors and senior girls.  Boys wishing to play volleyball should get a team together of 6-8 players and two coaches.  Please bring your team roster to Mrs. McGivney by Friday.  Girls wishing to play powder puff football, please sin up i the office.  You may have three coaches-please sign up with Mrs. McGivney.  All shirt designs and team names must be approved by the office.

Volleyball players - there will be a meeting tomorrow  in Ms. Bell's room  after school for all volleyball players (Freshmen-Seniors) to vote on awards for the season, and turn in uniforms if you haven't yet.  This shouldn't take long.

The deadline for the Rural Voices Youth Contest sponsored by the North Central Regional Planning Commission is quickly approaching.  December 2 is the last day for high school seniors in North Central Kansas to submit an entry.  To participate , seniors may write an essay (minimum 1,000 words) or create a video (3-5 minutes) reflective of this year's contest theme --  "Rural Kansas....Rural by Choice."  The top entry in each category will receive a cash award of $850.  For more information, visit the Counseling office or website.
