Any students interested in participating in track and field:

On Tuesday, March 3rd there will be a meeting for 8th graders.

Attendance at this meeting is required if you plan on participating in Track & Field.

Great job to the 7th and 8th grade Scholars Bowl teams last night. 8th grade fell a little short into making it into the finals. Both teams represented Abilene Middle School very well!

NCKL Boys Basketball Tournament Results last night at Chapman:

7th Grade defeated Concordia in the semifinals 55-24

8th Grade defeated Clay Center in the semifinals 42-19

7th grade fell in a hard fought game to Clay Center in the Championship 50-63

8th grade won the NCKL Championship to cap off an undefeated season over Wamego 44-26!

Great job to all of our players on a fantastic season!

Also, great job to our student section last night cheering for our Longhorns at the NCKL tournament.  They displayed great sportsmanship and pride for our Longhorns and represented our school very well despite the way other schools were acting.  We are very proud of all of you for taking the high road and displaying great sportsmanship!

JOKE OF THE DAY:  What do you call a pig on a leash?  Pulled pork!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:  Our quote of the day comes from Edwin Markham

“Defeat may serve as well as victory to shake the soul and let the glory out”

That is all for announcements today!  Have a great day, Longhorns!
