Abilene High School will be hosting a college fair on October 31.  Students need to register online for the event.  Stop by the guidance office for more details.
If you are interested in playing girls basketball, please sign up in the office.
Read & Discovery Book Club is meeting today during seminar in Ms. Schmidt's room.
The Counseling Office is sponsoring a Discovery Day trip to Kansas State University on Monday,  October 28.  Cost for the day is $20.  We will leave AHS around 7:30 a.m. and will return by 3:00.  Space is limited, so sign up soon in the Counseling Office.
Attention all students planning to pay basketball this winter (Girls and Boys):  A shoe salesman will be here on TODAY during the lunch hour.  Stop by the lobby NW of the main gym to try on shoes.
Wednesday, October 23 there will be a financial aid seminar available to all juniors and seniors.  We will talk about how to pay for college, financial aid vocabulary, and briefly discuss what the FAFSA application is all about.  That night at 7:00 p.m. bring your parents to a financial aid  meeting with advisor Danielle Sullivan.  Ms. Sullivan will talk about financial aid and help with the FAFSA process.  Talk to anyone in the counseling office for more information on what to bring to the Wednesday night meeting.
Scholars Bowl will practice after school today in Mr. Wilkins' room.  This is our last practice before competitions begin, so it's important that everyone in scholars bowl attend.
While 38% of the American people are eligible to donate blood, only 2% actually do.  Come to a meeting during seminar next Thursday, October 31 to learn how you can be a part of the 2% that saves three lives with your donation.
AHS Vocal Music Department will be presenting "All the Jazz" choral concert on Tuesday, October 22 at 7:00 in the Abilene High School auditorium.  Admission is free!  Come enjoy the show.
Due to Parent Teacher Conferences, gaming club will be cancelled Wednesday.
For Dickinson County students and parents:  Dickinson County Transition Coalition Resource Fair is Wednesday, October 23 from 1:30-6:30 in Gym B.  Strengthening student transitioning opportunities within Dickson County to increase employment, independence and quality of life.  There will be tables from Central Kansas Cooperative in Education, OCCK, Project SEARCH at Salina Regional Hospital, Central Kansas Mental Health, Vocational Rehabilitation Services, Pre-Employment Transition Services, Independent Connection, Choices Network, Neighbor to Neighbor, CKF Addition Treatment, Flint Hills Job Corps, United Healthcare Community Plan of KS, Benefits Specialist for Dickinson County and City of Abilene General Public Transportation.
