FBLA members, see Mrs. James to sign up to work the Prize Walk at the Eisenhower Easter Egg Roll.  

Last night the forensics team went to Ellsworth where Hailey McMillen took 1st in impromptu, qualifying to state, Harlie Delay took 4th in informative speaking, and Cheyenne Skime-Hooker took 5th in original oration.  Great job!


Attention!  If you plan to take the April 13th ACT test, they have closed our site due to low numbers of students signing up.  The Abilene students who plan to test have been re-routed to Junction City and other sites.  Please check your admit ticket carefully and plan accordingly.  If you want to wait and test in Abilene, you can change your date to June 8th if it works in your summer schedule.  See Mrs. Dutt with questions!

FFA is hosting concession stands for the home softball game on Friday. Please sign up through the link on Canvas for the time slot you wish to work. Participation points will be awarded. 
FFA Members - don’t forget our Alumni Work Auction is this Sunday at the middle school. Please arrive at 4:15pm to set up for the dinner. Officers are required to bring one dozen cinnamon rolls & other members are encouraged to bring a dozen as well. Please bring them in a disposable pan or in a pan with your name on it. We do not need serving utensils Participation points will be awarded for being auctioned off and for bringing cinnamon rolls. Wear this year’s FFA t-shirt & a nice pair of jeans, please. If you haven’t filled out your information on Canvas yet, do that a.s.a.p.. You must be present to be auctioned off. All members are required to participate each year of your membership to be considered for a scholarship. 
Staff Sergeant Garcia will be here on Tuesday, March 2
 during seminar to talk to students age 16 or older about a couple events the Kansas Army National Guard will be hosting next month.  If you are interested see Mrs. Bruna.
Attention senior men attending K-State next year:  See Mrs. Bruna about a scholarship opportunity.  

German students:  Would you like to spend 4 weeks this summer living with a family and studying in a German high school?  The Sean D. Biggs foundation, named in memory of Sean Biggs, a 1994 graduate of Abilene High School has a scholarship available to fund the study abroad experience for one AHS student this Summer.  Deadline is April 1st.  Interested students should contact Mrs. Meneley for more information. 

Sign up for League Champs/Regional Wrestling Runner-up Wrestling patches in the office.  You must pay before one will be ordered for you.  Cost is $13  Deadline to sign up is this Friday, March 29.

Attention Seniors:  Mrs. Bruna needs three things from you before you leave in May.  You need your parchment account set up, the post high school survey, and your final transcripts sent.  These can all be done now!!!!  Don’t wait until the last minute.  Need more information see the bulletin across from the counseling office.  

Seniors have you received a scholarship?  Mrs. Bruna would like to recognize those scholarships (local and college) in the achievement night and graduation programs, but unfortunately she can’t unless you report them on the scholarship survey located on the guidance office’s website.
The Eisenhower Easter Egg Roll is coming up on April 20th, and we are looking for some volunteers. We are looking for people to be role models and help with events like the egg roll, face painting, side walk chalk, arts and crafts stations, and chick bowling. It will mean a lot to young kids to have a wonderful Easter, so talk to Mr.Burkett in room 202 as soon as you can to ensure you can help out with the event you want to be apart of.”

Smoke-free movie night!!!  Abilene Resist invites you to a FREE movie night on Thursday, March 28th in the Abilene High School Auditorium.  Free hot dogs, snacks & drinks from 5:30-6:00 p.m.  Movie 6:00-8:15 p.m.  Drawings for Prizes.  Showing will be SPIDER-MAN:  Into the Spider-Verse


The forensics team had an excellent tournament at Hutchinson this past weekend.  Jackson Welsh and Maren Meneley took 1st in Duet Acting, qualifying to state, Jackson Welsh took 1st in prose and 2nd in Impromptu, qualifying both to state, Liz Collins and Ivy Tompkins took 3rd place in Duo Interpretation and improvised duet acting, Mason Cook and Lewis Trotter took 3rd place in Duet Acting, Ivy Tompkins took 4th place in prose, Maren Meneley took 4th place in poetry and program of oral interpretation, and Mason Cook took 5th place in program of oral interpretation.  Fantastic job everyone!
