FFA Seniors, get your pictures to Mrs. West or Robin Schlesener for the banquet power point by next Wednesday. We will need one baby picture, one middle-aged picture & one senior picture. You can send them electronically or bring them in an envelope for us to scan for you. 
Let’s Get Ready to Rumble …..The first annual Cheese Ball Challenge will take place in the Media Center on Thursday blocks 2,3, and 5. Stop by the Media Center and sample cheese balls made by Mrs. Farr’s classes. Then vote for your favorite cheese ball. A winner will be crowned by the end of the day!!!!!!

All students taking AP Tests need to report to the media center today during seminar  to complete the pre-test session with Mrs. Dutt.


This past weekend the forensics team competed in our national qualifying tournament in Newton.  Liz Collins and Ivy Tompkins placed 2nd in duo interpretation qualifying to Nationals!  Congratulations girls, well deserved!  Jackson Welsh placed 5th in Program of Oral Interpretation and Jackson Welsh and Maren Meneley were semifinalists in Duo Interpretation.  Jackson Welsh and Harlie Delay received awards for reaching 1500+ points in the National Speech and Debate Association, becoming member of premier distinction, and Jackson Welsh was named the West KS district Student of the Year, a major honor!  There were a number of students who went to this tournament that helped them achieved these goals, Lewis Trotter, Mason Cook, Cheyenne Skime-Hooker, Harlie Delay, Dylan Delay, and Hannah Caceres.  Congratulations everyone!


FFA Members running for officer positions, the schedule is now posted on Canvas. Please check your interview time & make sure it will work for you. If it doesn’t, you need to contact Mrs. West a.s.a.p. 

Reminder - FFA BBQ ticket money is due by April 24th at 3:30pm. Please make sure you’re getting your tickets sold. We have extras if you sell out & want to pick up more. Next week we will be smoking the pork during the day & shredding it each evening. Please plan on helping as much as your schedule allows. We will be meeting at 4:00 each evening to start pulling pork. Come at 4 if you’re not in a sport - come after practice if you are. We will feed you supper each night. 

Congratulations to the following FFA members that competed in various contests yesterday. 
Floriculture placed 5th as a team and had one member in the top ten - Megan Anguiano placed 10th

Senior Livestock Judging team placed 7th out of 15 teams and had one student in the top ten - Will Stroda placed 4th out of 67 contestants

Landscape & Nursery team placed 4th with two kids in the top ten - Brenna Riffel was 3rd and Megan Anguiano was 6th. 
The Salina Regional Health Center Volunteer Department is accepting applications for volunteers at SRHC during the summer months.  Any student currently in high school or college with at least a 2.5GPA is eligible.

Sky Trampoline Park will be holding two hiring events on April 19 and April 26 from 3-7.  If you are interested, see the flyer by the counseling office.

 

We have filled every position for the Eisenhower Egg Roll! The event is from 12: 30 to 2:30 this Saturday. If you are looking for more volunteer opportunities to get community service hours night of the Stars are looking for help providing makeup and hair for the contestants. See Mr.Burkett for more details.”

If you are enrolled in a concurrent college class next year, such as College Algebra, Psychology, or Speech - please check the bulletin board by the counseling office stairs to see if you need to take a qualifying test for enrollment.  Salina Tech requires college entrance scores such as the ACT or Accuplacer to be able to enroll in your college class.  If your name is on the lis ton the bulletin board, please see your counselor about setting up a time to take an Accuplacer. 


Right now, the Red Cross has less than a three-day supply of most blood types, and blood products are being distributed to hospitals faster than donations are coming in.  Please consider donating blood at our final drive of the school year on May 2nd.  Your one pint of blood can make a HUGE difference.  Sign up is outside the office.
