FFA Members - tonight is BBQ at Sterl Hall. Please make sure you’re coming to Sterl Hall right after school or after sports’ practices to help. This is a mandatory event for all FFA members. Do not miss sports practice to help - just come afterwards, please. Wear your FFA t-shirt & closed toe shoes. 


If you haven’t turned in your BBQ tickets or money yet, please leave them in the office for Mrs. West on Thursday or make sure you get them to her on Friday morning before school starts. You will receive a bill for any tickets that are not returned.

The regular deadline for the June 8th ACT is coming up on Friday, May 3rd.  If you plan to take the June 8th ACT, get registered online atactstudent.org at your earliest convenience!  Contact the guidance office with any questions.
This is often the best test for a great score right after your junior year, so consider taking it if you are a senior of 2020 and plan to attend college!

Summer School information is available from your counselor!  If you failed a core class and plan to attend summer school, contact your counselor for a sign up sheet asap!  Summer school  begins May 28th  and runs through June 20, 2019, from 8 am-12pm.  Space is limited, so make sure you pick up a sheet, get it signed and returned to reserve your spot.

Sky Trampoline Park is having a slogan contest.  Contest ends on May 3rd.  For more details, see the flyer on the bulletin board across from the guidance office.

 you are taking a college class next year such as speech, English Comp, or college algebra, please plan to attend an enrollment meeting Wednesday May 1st during seminar.  
You must be enrolled in Salina Tech by May 13th to take a college class next year.

Just a reminder, students if you are signing up for the June ACT, the deadline is Friday, May 3rd.  See Mrs. Bruna if you have any questions.  

KSU Air Force ROTC will be at AHS on Friday, May 3rd during lunches.  
There is a prom meeting (for 2018-19 Prom committee members) in Mrs. Hoskins' room during seminar today.

If you are a current sophomore or junior and you have at least one FULL year of high school choir, you are invited to sign-up for AHS Singers auditions. Talk to Mrs. Whiteley about the audition process and to sign up for an audition time. Auditions will be next week.

 

The Community Foundation is looking for a volunteer to wear the Happy Bear suit for presentations at Kennedy.
If you are interested in helping, please let Mrs. Weishaar know!

 

The Salina Regional Health Center Volunteer Department is accepting applications for volunteers at SRHC during the summer months.  Any student currently in high school or college with at least a 2.5GPA is eligible. Stop by the counseling office for more information

Sky Trampoline Park will be holding another hiring events on  April 26 from 3-7.  If you are interested, see the flyer by the counseling office.

 

If  you are enrolled in a concurrent college class next year, such as College Algebra, Psychology, or Speech - please check the bulletin board by the counseling office stairs to see if you need to take a qualifying test for enrollment.  Salina Tech requires college entrance scores such as the ACT or Accuplacer to be able to enroll in your college class.  If your name is on the lis ton the bulletin board, please see your counselor about setting up a time to take an Accuplacer. 


Right now, the Red Cross has less than a three-day supply of most blood types, and blood products are being distributed to hospitals faster than donations are coming in.  Please consider donating blood at our final drive of the school year on May 2nd.  Your one pint of blood can make a HUGE difference.  Sign up is outside the office.
